This portfolio includes three major assignments: the Group Milestone Research Project, the Professional Research and Writing Proposal, and the Material Feminism Essay. These three assignments demonstrate my development in professional and technical writing. Each project highlights my ability to research complex topics, analyze audiences, collaborate with others, and communicate ideas clearly in academic and professional contexts.
Group Milestone Research Project
This project was completed as part of a collaborative research assignment focused on audience perceptions of AI-generated political news. My group conducted qualitative research, including interviews and thematic analysis, to understand how audiences evaluate credibility, trust, and bias in AI-generated journalism. This project strengthened my collaboration, research, and analytical writing skills while teaching me how to contribute to a large, multi-section research report. It demonstrates my ability to work in a team, synthesize academic sources, and present findings to an academic audience.
Professional Research Proposal
This proposal was created for my Professional Research Writing course and focuses on improving client accessibility and communication in a workplace setting. The project involved researching workplace communication challenges, analyzing client needs, and developing evidence-based recommendations. The proposal suggests implementing a daily response block and creating a website FAQ section to improve response times, reduce interruptions, and strengthen client trust. This project demonstrates my ability to write persuasively for professional audiences and present practical, research-supported solutions.
Material Feminism Essay
This academic essay explores the concept of material feminism and proposes a modernized definition that expands beyond Marxist feminism. The paper analyzes historical and contemporary perspectives to explain how economic systems, labor, social class, technology, and reproductive rights shape gender inequality. This project demonstrates my ability to engage with scholarly sources, develop a clear argument, and communicate complex theoretical ideas to an academic audience. It highlights my critical thinking, research, and analytical writing skills.
